The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns men’s basketball team wrapped up the regular season last Friday night with a win over Southern Miss. As they prepare to head to Pensacola for the Sun Belt Tournament, they will do so with some postseason honors attached to them.
Kobe Julien, Joe Charles, and Hosana Kitenge were all named to the All-SBC team. The three selections makes Louisiana tied for the most in the conference.
Julien landed on the second team, earning the highest honors of any player. He averaged over 17 points per game, and became an offensive focal point as he finally fully returned from a plethora of injuries that he has dealt with throughout his career.
Charles landed on the third team after a breakout season. He became an excellent two-way player, averaging a double-double during conference play. The Carencro native also set a new career mark with 26 points against Southern Miss a couple of weeks ago.
Kitenge also landed on the third team. A transfer this year, the native of England became a force inside on the offensive end. He became the team’s second leading scorer in conference play and also recorded five double-doubles.
The Cajuns will play their first game in the Sun Belt Tournament on Thursday night in Pensacola, Florida as the five seed. They enter the tournament as the defending champions.
