The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns (3-1) will be on the road for their first Sun Belt game of 2024 as they face the Southern Miss Golden Eagles in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

The Cajuns haven’t won in Hattiesburg since 1989 and carry an all-time 1-24 record on the road at Southern Miss.

Kickoff inside M.M. Roberts Stadium is set for 6:00 p.m. central and can be viewed on ESPN+.

HISTORY IS AGAINST THE CAJUNS

Louisiana may be off to a great start in 2024, but Hattiesburg has been a very difficult place for anyone wearing Vermilion and White. Dating back to 1933, Louisiana has won just one time against the Golden Eagles in their home stadium.

Will the Cajuns be able to rewrite history in a sense for their program and pick up their first conference win of 2024 in the process?

OFFENSIVE SUCCESS

Louisiana currently ranks 37th nationally in total offense through four games, averaging 453.5 yards of offense. The offense was very efficient against Wake Forest on the road, so the hope is that Ben Wooldridge and the offense can continue to ride that momentum into this matchup with Southern Miss.

START SBC PLAY STRONG

In the Sun Belt, every win matters, but they matter a little bit more when it’s in the West Division. This first game in the division is huge for the standings going forward as the Cajuns won’t play another Division game until October 29th when they go to Texas State. Louisiana will be looking for a fast start to the Sun Belt slate on Saturday night.
