The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns women’s basketball team was selected to finish 5th in the Sun Belt Conference based on the 2024-24 preseason poll.

Last year, Garry Brodhead’s team finished 17-14 overall with a 10-8 mark in SBC play. They finished the regular season by winning six of their final seven games and used that momentum to make a run to the SBC Tournament semifinals.

In addition to being picked fifth, the Cajuns also got recognition on the Preseason All-SBC Team. Junior Jaylyn James was selected as a member of the second team. James averaged 12.1 points per game in SBC play a season ago, becoming one of the Cajuns’ best scoring options.

Louisiana opens their season on the road for the MAC-SBC challenge in DeKalb, Illinois where they will face Northern Illinois on November 4th at 11:00 AM.
