Only the Cajuns’ Motives Matter

Posted by davidschultz on December 12, 2017 in Blogs, Featured

Why shouldn’t the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns go after a couple of the bigger names to fill their opening for a Head Football Coach?

As of almost mid-December, former LSU coach Les Miles will have been left standing following the last two episodes ‘Coaching Musical Chairs’.  Did I miss the job he turned down?  Why not ask him?

Same thing goes for recently available and former A & M coach, Kevin Sumlin.  While I believe Sumlin could wait one season, enjoy his lump sum payout from the Aggies and land a Power 5 coaching job for 2019.  But maybe he doesn’t want to wait.  Maybe he comes to UL, wins right away and his asking price goes up?  I have no idea.

But I’m not concerned what drives Miles or Sumlin, but only what should concern the Cajuns.  Get the best coach out there, pack the stands and hope the winning ensues.
