Drama unfolded on Friday night following the conclusion of the North Vermilion-Comeaux High football game.
The Patriots picked up the win on homecoming before a postgame brawl broke out in the handshake line. A student was injured in the fight and was transported to a local hospital.
Because of the incident, both teams have been forced to forfeit their games this week, giving St. Thomas More and Teurlings Catholic the wins in their respective contests against Comeaux and North Vermilion.
The decision to forfeit was sent down by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association.
ESPN 103.7 Lafayette will now not have a high school football game to carry, but the Southwest Louisiana Prep Rpoert will still air from 6-6:30 p.m. as we get you set for the other games on the Delta Media family of stations.
