The McNeese Cowboys, fresh off their loss to Houston Christian, will travel back to Texas to face Incarnate Word, currently ranked in the Top 15 in the FCS.
Kickoff inside Benson Stadium is set for 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19th. The game will be televised on ESPN+.
LONG ROAD TRIP
McNeese will continue their six-week road trip this Saturday when they head to San Antonio to face the Cardinals, who have had a strong start to the season as one of the top teams in the FCS. The Cowboys have picked up key wins over Weber State while battling late against another ranked team in Tarleton State to open the season, so the road environment for a top team should be no secret for Gary Goff’s team.
CAN THE 4TH QUARTER SUCCESS CONTINUE?
McNeese has had a ton of success in the final quarter of their games this season, outscoring their opponents 78-19 in the fourth. They’ve also converted all 11 of their red zone opportunities as the Pokes will look to continue that success against a stout UIW defense.
RUSHING ATTACK THE DIFFERENCE?
McNeese has a multi-faceted rushing attack with Clifton McDowell, Joshon Barbie, D’Angelo Durham, and others. In the last three contests, the Cowboys offense has gotten over 200 yards rushing in each of the contests, including 220 at Weber State. Look for Goff and the Cowboys to continue relying on the ground game.
