***UPDATE: DUE TO THE COVID-19 CRISIS, CYCLE ZYDECO HAS BEEN MOVED TO OCTOBER 7TH -10TH*** For more information, please visit www.cyclezydeco.org or latrail.org

Coming up in October is Cycle Zydeco! A five-day festival that has all the things that most festivals have like music, food, drinks, and lots of people. But there is one thing that makes it different. Bicycles.

Cycle Zydeco is a five day festival on wheels. The festival involves riding a bicycle around Acadiana. Riders will be checking out all the beautiful relics that Louisiana has to offer traveling around 40 miles a day. There will be lots of stops. Stops will have a Louisiana band playing music that you can dance to and also serve up delicious Louisiana food. When you register for Cycle Zydeco, you get these vouchers called Zydeco Bucks that will allow you to pick and choose which meal you try.

If for some reason, you are unable to take off of work to participate during the week, no worries! There is a Weekend Warrior option.

Riders camp out each night. Supplies and tents are being carried in a trailer that follows the riders. Although there will lots of pedaling going on, keep in mind that this is not a race, it is a leisure ride. So inexperienced riders will definitely be able to keep up. In other words, its a festival.

Bike rentals are available through the TRAIL office.

Due to the pandemic, the event has been moved to October 7-11, 2020. It’s a Wednesday through Sunday. Register at CycleZydeco.org. There is even a Weekend Warrior option if you are unable to do the 5 days. Get ready to ride, eat, dance, drink, and ride some more!

This event is presented by TRAIL. If you are interested in being a volunteer, contact the TRAIL office! Volunteers get free food, free drinks, and a free shirt! Plus, volunteers have a fun time!!!

TRAIL is a nonprofit organization. TRAIL (Transportation Recreation Alternatives In Louisiana) is working to create places to go hiking, running, walking, biking and paddling. They work with local government agencies to complete projects that make it easier to enjoy the great outdoors.
