Dallas Keuchel shines in 4–2 win over Royals

Posted by on October 12, 2015 in Featured, Latest News

Houston Astros starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel picked up right where he left off in last Tuesday’s AL wild-card game, helping Houston to a 4–2 win over the Kansas City Royals, and giving the Astros a 2–1 lead in the ALDS.

Keuchel tossed seven innings of one-run ball to earn the victory, allowing just five hits and three walks while striking out seven.

Catcher Jason Castro started the scoring for Houston with a two-run single in the fifth inning to put the Astros ahead 2–1.

Carlos Gomez later singled in a run in the sixth to put them ahead for good 3–1, and Chris Carter added a solo shot in the seventh.

Astros closer Luke Gregerson entered in the ninth and picked up the save despite allowing a solo home run to Royals outfielder Alex Gordon.

The teams will stay in Houston for a potential series-clinching Game 4 on Monday at 1:07 p.m. ET.
