Former LSU Tigers’ cornerback Mansoor Delane was selected by Kansas City Chiefs with the 6th pick of the First Round of the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The Chiefs traded up to no. 6 to get the standout cornerback.
Delane transferred to LSU for his senior season after playing his first three years of college football at Virginia Tech.
A native of Silver Springs, Maryland, Delane played as a freshman as a Hokie but started to make a big impact as a sophomore. In that season, he recorded 54 tackles with an interception. Following that year, his junior year was a breakout campaign. He added 54 tackles and four interceptions, becoming a Third Team All-ACC selection.
Following that season, Delane entered the NCAA Transfer Portal and ultimately committed to play for LSU. He would have his best season yet, becoming a unanimous All-American selection and a First Team All-SEC selection. He tallied 45 tackles, 11 pass breakups, and two interceptions.
Delane joins the Chiefs who have seen key pieces depart at cornerback in recent season.
