After a 7-10 season for 2022, there weren’t many positives for the New Orleans Saints. One player that did stand out according to his peers and the league was linebacker Demario Davis.
Davis was named to the first Pro Bowl of his 11-year career earlier in the season. He also got another accolade for his 2022 efforts by making the Associated Press All-Pro Second Team. This is the third time and third year in a row he’s earned the honor—however, this is the fourth overall as he was named to the first team in 2019.
In this last season, Davis played and started in all 17 games, racking up 109 tackles, 54 being solo tackles. The six-and-a-half sacks are career-high and ranked third on the team.
The former Arkansas State Red Wolf still has two years left on his current deal with the Black and Gold and is set to become a free agent in 2025 when he’s 36 years old.
