To no surprise Drew Brees has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week.
The veteran quarterback for the New Orleans Saints earned his 20th player of the week after leading the Saints to victory Sunday throwing for 512 yards and seven touchdowns.
Brees shredded the depleted Giants connecting with nine different recieving targets. With the record 13 touchdown passes in last Sunday’s matchup, it was apparent that whoever won, that quarterback would earn the award.
Former LSU Linebacker Kwon Alexander also earned the NFC Defensive Player of the Week. The rookie with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had an inspired game with 11 tackles, an interception, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery only 48 hours after he found out his little brother had been killed.
