Keon Coleman has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal.
The former Opelousas Catholic three-sport star and Michigan State wide receiver entered his name in the portal on Sunday. That was the spring deadline for players to enter their names into the transfer portal.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Coleman is coming off a breakout season for the Spartans. Coleman led the Big 10 program in receptions (58), receiving yards (798) and receiving touchdowns (7) during the 2022 season.
In two seasons in East Lansing, Coleman has 65 receptions for 848 yards and 8 touchdowns in 22 career games, including 12 starts.
Coleman also played as a backup for the Michigan State men’s basketball team during the 2021-22 season. He appeared in six games, scoring five points and three steals.
Coleman chose Michigan State over dozens of FBS programs including Auburn, Florida State, Tennessee, Texas, Baylor and the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns. At Opelousas Catholic, Coleman was a two-time first-team all-state selection for the Vikings, including scoring 22 touchdowns as a junior. He was also ranked as a three-star athlete by 247Sports, ESPN.com and Rivals.com.
He will have two seasons of collegiate eligibility remaining.
