It’s safe to say that the Houston Rockets have been working overtime when it comes to the trade market. They started things off strong by making a huge trade for Chris Paul and continued to make moves throughout the day on Wednesday.
The latest moves that went under the radar involved former players from Louisiana Ragin Cajuns and the LSU Tigers in Shawn Long and Tim Quarterman respectively.
Quarterman was an undrafted free-agent out of college last year and was used sparingly during his time with the Portland Trailblazers. He averaged 14 points, 6.3 boards, and five assists per 36 minutes in 16 games according to Basketball-Reference.com. He was traded in exchange for cash considerations.
Long was also undrafted and played two more games than Quarterman in the 2016-17 season. The 2016 Sun Belt Conference player of the year was traded from the Philadelphia 76ers for a 2018 second-rounder as well as cash considerations.
The Sixers now have four second-round picks in next year’s draft in addition to their first-round pick and the top pick of the Los Angeles Lakers. However, this is dependent if that pick winds up going to the Boston Celtics.
