Former University of Louisiana running back Raymond Calais found himself on a 53-man roster.
Calais was signed to the Los Angeles Rams’ 53-man roster after getting waived by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Tampa Bay selected Calais in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft. The team waived Calais on Sept. 4. The Rams signed the former Louisiana running back and special teams specialist on Sept. 6.
“Thanking God for another opportunity!” Calais tweeted out. “Been a crazy 24 hours! Rams here I come!”
Calais averaged 28.5 yards per return in his senior season with the Ragin’ Cajuns. He recorded 886 rushing yards on 117 carries his final year at Louisiana.
The Los Angeles Rams will open their season against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night, Sept. 13.
