Tamera Johnson has found her new school.
The former Lafayette Christian Academy and Louisiana Ragin’ Cajun will be transferring to Penn State, she told Jamarcus Fitzpatrick of KATC.
Johnson starred for LCA during her prep career after starting at Northside. While at LCA, she helped the Knights win their third consecutive title as a junior, averaging 16 points and 10 rebounds per game. Her efforts earned her Second-Team All-State honors, along with First-Team All-Acadiana and All-District.
She committed to play for coach Garry Brodhead and the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns in college. While with the Cajuns, Johnson earned a starting role in her second season, and remained a mainstay in the lineup for three seasons. In her last two, she averaged double figure scoring.
Off the court, she has been recognized for her involvement in the community. She was given the Andrea Brodhead Community Involvement Award for the Ragin’ Cajuns this season.
Johnson will have one year of eligibility for the Nittany Lions.
