Former LSU Tiger pitcher Grant Taylor is set to make his Major League Baseball debut after being called up by the Chicago White Sox.

Taylor joined the Sox in Houston ahead of their series against the Astros that begins tonight.

He becomes the 89th MLB player from the LSU program.

Taylor pitched for the Tigers in 2022 and 2023 but had to miss the latter of those seasons due to injury. He totaled 17.1 innings in his freshmen season with a 5.81 ERA.

After his time at LSU, he was a second-round pick of the White Sox in the 2023 MLB Draft. He has been working his way up through the minor-league ranks and began this season at Triple-A Birmingham.

The White Sox face the Astros tonight at first pitch at 7:10 PM with pregame beginning at 6:40 PM. You can hear the action on Newstalk 98.5 FM.
