Walker Howard, the former St. Thomas More standout quarterback, is expected to transfer to the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns, his father confirmed to Kevin Foote of the Acadiana Advocate on Tuesday.
Howard was a highly touted prospect, garnering four or five star ratings by various recruiting outlets. He led the STM Cougars to two state championships during his time in high school.
Howard eventually committed to LSU, where he would spend one season. He played in two games as a Tiger, including the Citrus Bowl against Purdue. He then entered the transfer portal and committed to Ole Miss.
The former top-ranked recruit was then at Ole Miss for two seasons, playing sparingly for Lane Kiffin’s team. He played in two games during his first season with the Rebels and appeared in two more contests this year.
He entered the transfer portal on Monday, and it now appears that he is likely to join Michael Desormeaux’s team and enroll at UL for the spring semester. He will have multiple years of eligibility remaining and will be eligible to play immediately.
