The end result was never in question when the Ragin Cajuns and the Georgia Bulldogs met up on Saturday morning. Big plays early on set the tone for the game as Georgia took down the Cajuns 35-21.
The Bulldogs wasted no time getting points on the board with one rush from Isaiah McKenzie for 55 yards to take an early 7-0 lead. This wouldn’t be the last the Cajuns would hear of McKenzie as later in the first quarter, he would return a punt from 82 yards out to make it 14-0.
The Bulldogs would slow down until late in the second quarter as they extended their lead with Jacob Eason connecting with Isaac Nauta. The Cajuns would respond with a big drive with Anthony Jennings connecting with Al Riles for a 64-yard pass before taking it in himself to make it 21-7 as they headed into the locker room at the half.
Georgia would continue to pour it on in the third quarter with an 11 play drive that ended with Nick Chubb scoring the touchdown from one yard out, making it 28-0.
Georgia would put the icing on the cake with Eason connecting with Chubb on a 49-yard pass. The Cajuns would wind up scoring two touchdowns off the legs of Jennings in the final minutes to make it a two score game, but an onside kick recovered by the Bulldogs would seal their fate.
The Cajuns (4-6, 3-3 SBC) will return home after Thanksgiving next Saturday and host Arkansas State with an early kickoff set for 11 am.
