If you are not geeked for football in this general region this week then you better check your pulse. Did you see what went down in that big ass dome on Sunday? That’s entertainment, dog! If you want to call the Saints butter because they are on a roll, go right ahead. They have what appears to be a favorable schedule in front of them, but today’s NFL is so unpredictable from week to week I’d advise to proceed with extreme caution. This league is more unpredictable than a 30 man over-the-top-rope Royal Rumble.
Hey, can you believe that the Ragin’ Cajuns, who are teetering on the brink of losing complete control of their season, are actually going to attempt the dreaded “Two Quarterback System?” Are they nuts? You know how talented your players need to be and how creative your coaches need to be in order to pull that off? If Hud rolls with some super rad new offense, led by both Nixon and Haack and succeeds with a bowl appearance and victory, then he would have to be a top candidate for one of the 75,000 gigs that have already opened up at the big money schools.
Seriously though, does it get any better than what we got this Saturday? November will have some big moments with your local heroes of the gridiron, but when it comes to LSU versus Alabama, folks, it don’t get no bigger than this. It cannot be stressed enough: #LSUvsBama can never ever be overhyped. Ever. There is not enough hype under God’s hot sun for this one.
The winner of #LSUvsBama will not be the smartest team with the best scheme. The winner of this game will not be the strongest team with the most studly running back and the most handsome quarterback. The winner of this game will be the team willing to do anything. It will be the team willing to do more than that the other team; maybe sacrifice just a little bit more than the other team to make the all-important splash plays that define a game. Now while LSU keeps tends to play games closer than they should, that sounds a lot like a Mad Hatter coached team to me. Look for Brandon Harris to go down the field and get SCHWIFTY.
