Harris Throws Gem, Shuts Out Little Rock

Posted by clintdomingue on April 21, 2018 in Blogs, Latest News

The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (22-18, 10-7 Sun Belt) pitching staff is starting to find its footing with another shutout on Saturday in a 4-0 victory over Little Rock (20-17, 9-7 Sun Belt).

How It Happened

The Cajuns offense was able to get off to a strong start in the bottom of the second with a pair of singles from Hunter Kasuls and Kennon Fontenot. Kasuls was able to get them on the board later in the inning, getting past the catcher on a double steal. Kole McKinnon made it 2-0 with a sac fly out to centerfield to score Fontenot.

Lahare kept the offense moving along in the bottom of the third with a solo shot out to right field to start the inning. Later in the inning, Fontenot was able to get Kasuls across with a two-out RBI single to center field to make it 4-0.

Hogan Harris improved to 3-1 on the season allowing only four hits in six innings of work.

Big Number: 4

Give credit to the Cajuns defense tonight as they successfully turned four double plays, which is the most since they turned five against UNO back in 2016.

Player of the Game: Daniel Lahare

Lahare had a good night as the leadoff hitter, going two-of-four including the solo shot in the bottom of the third.
