It looks like it is safe to say that Zack Hess is back to his old self after his performance on Friday night. The sophomore put together another great performance on Friday night; striking out 13 batters on the night to help LSU (6-4) open up the weekend with an 8-1 victory over Toledo (2-6).
Hunter Feduccia got the Tigers on the board in the bottom of the first with a groundout to first to get Antoine Duplantis home safely. They began to extend their lead in the bottom of the second with Duplantis hitting an RBI single.
Toledo got on the board in the top of the third when John Servello hit an RBI double out to right field in the third to cut away at the lead. However, Feduccia put the game out of reach with a grand slam out to right field to make it 7-1 in the seventh.
Hess improved to 2-1 with his seven inning performance, allowing one run off of six hits. LSU will take on Sacred Heart (2-2) tomorrow afternoon with first pitch set for 5:30 pm.
