While most of the awards for college football are for a player’s performance on the field, there are some that are for what they do off-the-field in their community.
The Wuerffel Trophy is known as College Football’s Premier Award for Community Service and is awarded to the FBS player that combines exemplary community service with athletic and academic achievement.
LSU’s Danny Etling and Louisiana’s Grant Horst were both named to the preseason watch list for the Wuerffel Trophy.
