We’re through the first few days of the NFL’s free agency period. Many big names have been moved and are finding new homes or extending their stay with their current team. Here is my first of many mock drafts for the 2025 NFL Draft:
- Tennessee Titans – Abdul Carter – ED – Penn State
There are many directions the Titans could go in. As of right now, I think Abdul Carter is their guy to be their next premiere pass rusher. - Cleveland Browns – Cam Ward – QB – Miami
Deshaun Watson isn’t expected to be back for the 2025 season. If Tennessee doesn’t take Ward with the first pick, then Cleveland will take the top quarterback prospect in this draft class. - New York Giants – Shedeur Sanders – QB – Colorado
The Giants want to sign a veteran quarterback to be their next starter. Even if they do, I still believe they will try to find a long-term solution by taking Sanders here. - New England Patriots – Travis Hunter – CB/WR – Colorado
The second-best prospect drops to the Patriots at four, filling multiple positions for them. Hunter strengthens their secondary even more and adds a much-needed playmaker on offense. - Jacksonville Jaguars – Will Campbell – OT – LSU
New head coach Liam Coen is offensive-minded and wants to protect his franchise quarterback at all costs. Campbell grades out well as a pass protector in an offense that’ll likely want to throw the football. - Las Vegas Raiders – Ashton Jeanty – RB – Boise State
The Raiders need to give Geno Smith and their new-look offense more weapons to work with. Jeanty is projected as a generational prospect and would improve a lackluster running back room. - New York Jets – Mason Graham – IDL – Michigan
New York isn’t desperate for another defensive linemen, but Graham could pair well with Quinnen Williams and create a formidable front four. - Carolina Panthers – Mykel Williams – ED – Georgia
Carolina is a huge wildcard for me. They could go in many directions as they attempt to rebuild. For now, I have them taking one of the top Georgia Bulldogs in this year’s draft. - New Orleans Saints – Will Johnson – CB – Michigan
The Saints traded Marshon Lattimore to the Commanders before the trade deadline last season and let Paulson Adebo walk in free agency. Johnson is one of the top corners in this draft and could start day one for New Orleans. - Chicago Bears – Armand Membou – OT – Missouri
The offensive line has been priority number one for Chicago thus far. Adding another lineman wouldn’t be out of the running under a new regime. - San Francisco 49ers – Tetairoa McMillan – WR – Arizona
McMillan could easily go in the top 10. Him falling to San Francisco would fill one of the many positions they lost to free agency. - Dallas Cowboys – James Pearce Jr. – ED – Tennessee
There have been multiple reports and concerns about Pearce’s attitude, which could hurt his draft stock. I have him near the middle of the first round for now to address a loss for Dallas. - Miami Dolphins – Kenneth Grant – IDL – Michigan
I believe many teams will try to replicate what the Eagles did, having better offensive and defensive line play. Miami is lacking at nose tackle, and Grant was one of the best in college last year at that position. - Indianapolis Colts – Tyler Warren – TE – Penn State
I thought Indy would draft Bowers last year, but he was taken before they had the chance. They should have the chance to take Warren with the 14th pick. - Atlanta Falcons – Mike Green – ED – Marshall
Atlanta has had a history of taking defensive linemen with their first round picks. Green has a high upside and could fix this defense. - Arizona Cardinals – Walter Nolan – IDL – Ole Miss
The Cardinals added a former Eagles player to their line but can also take Nolan, who could use some extra time to sharpen his skills as a pass rusher and run stopper. - Cincinnati Bengals – Donovan Ezeiruaku – ED – Boston College
With Trey Hendrickson looking to play somewhere else, Cincy should take an edge rusher early. - Seattle Seahawks – Jahdae Barron – CB – Texas
Barron falls to Seattle in this one, giving the Seahawks another corner they can plug into multiple spots. - Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Malaki Starks – S – Georgia
It feels like this upcoming season could be Jordan Whitehead’s last in Tampa. Starks can also play in the slot for the Bucs if need be. - Denver Broncos – Luther Burden III – WR – Missouri
Last year, Denver lacked weapons for Bo Nix to get the ball to. They addressed the tight end position by signing Evan Engram. Burden III would be a great addition for them on the outside and in the slot. - Pittsburgh Steelers – Jaxson Dart – QB – Ole Miss
The Steelers can’t figure out who they want to play quarterback for them in 2025 and the future. Dart’s garnered a lot of attention and is expected to be a first round pick. I don’t see him getting taken as high as some people think he’ll get taken. - Los Angeles Chargers – Shemar Stewart – ED – Texas A&M
Los Angeles retained Khalil Mack before losing Joey Bosa to Buffalo. The importance of having defensive linemen makes me lean to the former Aggie for the Chargers. - Green Bay Packers – Nick Emmanwori – S – South Carolina
Green Bay loves drafting defensive players in the first round of drafts. Emmanwori was productive as a Gamecock and was excellent at the combine. - Minnesota Vikings – Omarion Hampton – RB – North Carolina
After the last handful of years, I would’ve never thought multiple running backs could be selected in the first round. Hampton, along with others in this draft, could go higher than we expect. - Houston Texans – Josh Simmons – OT – Ohio State
The Texans have gutted their offensive line, trading Laremy Tunsil and cutting Shaq Mason. Taking one of the top offensive linemen in the draft makes sense here. - Los Angeles Rams – Colston Loveland – TE – Michiagan
The Rams don’t need to take a wide receiver early since they signed Davante Adams and even brought back Tyler Higbee for another year. Higbee is on his last legs, though, and Loveland would be taking over the starting job as the year goes along. - Baltimore Ravens – Tyleik Williams – IDL – Ohio State
With the surprise retirement of Michael Pierce, Baltimore could use another interior defensive lineman to clog up the middle. - Detroit Lions – Nic Scourton – ED – Texas A&M
Scourton is slightly bigger than who they usually line up on the edge, but they did make a change at defensive coordinator after Aaron Glenn took the Jets’ head coaching job. This is also a luxury pick with how good Detorit has been. - Washington Commanders – Jihaad Campbell – LB – Alabama
Campbell would complete the linebacker room for Washington as they’ve still got Frankie Luvu under contract and re-signed Bobby Wagner. - Buffalo Bills – Trey Amos – CB – Ole Miss
Buffalo traded Kaiir Elam the other day, freeing up a spot to take a corner somewhat early in the draft. Amos is a local product who’s made a name for himself after taking a step up in competition. - Kansas City Chiefs – Kelvin Banks Jr. – OT – Texas
The Chiefs need to find as much offensive line talent as possible. Banks brings flexibility to Kansas City, having the potential to either play tackle or guard. - Philadelphia Eagles – Landon Jackson – ED – Arkansas
Philly lost a bunch of talent on their defensive line. Might as well take a shot on another edge rusher that’s shown significant improvement and is from the SEC. Jackson didn’t attend Georgia, but he still played in the SEC.
