Right-handed pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. has agreed to a five-year, $85 million contract extension with the Houston Astros on Wednesday, according to ESPN.
McCullers returned to the Astros last season after Tommy John surgery the season before. He posted a 3-3 record with a 3.93 ERA. McCullers also recorded 56 strikeouts in his 11 starts in 2020.
McCullers has spent five seasons with the Astros. He is 32-25 overall and was named an All-Star in 2017. He was drafted 41st overall in the 2012 MLB Draft.
The contract extension will start next season.
