Former Louisiana Ragin Cajuns offensive lineman Robert Hunt has been named to the Pro Bowl games as a member of the Carolina Panthers.
Hunt was named to the team to replace Eagles guard Landon Dickerson, who will be preparing for the Super Bowl.
The 28-year-old guard, signed as a free agent last March after starting his career with the Miami Dolphins, has blossomed into a key piece of Carolina’s rebuild.
He played every offensive snap in the first 16 games before a knee injury forced him to miss the final game. He allowed just 2.5 sacks on the season, only committed one holding penalty, and had a 6.8 QB pressure rating.
“I can’t say that was snubbed. I just know I can be better,” Hunt said. “I was an alternate last year, so this year, I got closer. I was a closer alternate. Maybe next year, I kick the door down. I’m gonna do all I can in this offseason to try to kick the door down.”
The Panthers went from 65 sacks allowed in 2023 to 36 last year with Hunt as a centerpiece of a rebuilt offensive line, helping running back Chuba Hubbard to career highs with 1,195 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns.
As a member of the Ragin Cajuns, Hunt was a two-time All-Sun Belt honoree, including first-team in 2019 despite missing the entire second half of the season. He was a key piece of the biggest run of success in program history before being drafted 39th overall by Miami in the 2020 NFL Draft.
The 2025 Pro Bowl Games take place beginning on Thursday on ESPN.
