A former member of the New Orleans Saints is joining a new crew on Saturdays.
Mark Ingram II has been added to the Fox Sports family as he’ll become a member of the Big Noon Kickoff cast covering college football beginning this September.
The former Heisman Trophy winner will be alongside Urban Meyer, Matt Leinart, Brady Quinn, and host Rob Stone on Saturdays at 9:00 a.m. CT on Fox before college football’s most watched window, Big Noon Saturday.
“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Heisman Trophy-winner and BCS National Champion Mark Ingram to the FOX Sports family,” said FOX Sports President of Production and Operations, Executive Producer Brad Zager. “Mark’s infectious personality, outstanding playing credentials and above all passion for the game is what makes him such an invaluable asset to our team. With him on board, BIG NOON KICKOFF will continue to provide viewers with unparalleled analysis and commentary each and every Saturday.”
The former Alabama Crimson Tide running back was drafted in the first round of the 2011 NFL draft by the New Orleans Saints where he played 12 seasons (10 with the Saints) and ran for a total of 8,111 yards on 1817 attempts for yards per carry average of 4.5 and 65 touchdowns. He currently holds the franchise record for rushing yards with 6,267. Ingram II also caught 303 passes for 2,125 yards and reached paydirt 10 times in his career.
“I’m thrilled to join FOX Sports and BIG NOON KICKOFF”, said Ingram II. “I can’t wait to feel the energy and excitement every Saturday, alongside some of the most talented and entertaining names in our sport, at the biggest games in college football – I’m ready for the Fall!”
While at Alabama, Ingram II was a key contributor as he helped lead the Crimson Tide to their first SEC title since 1999, running for 1,658 yards and 17 touchdowns en route to the Heisman trophy that season. 2009 was also the first national title for Alabama in nearly 20 years and re-established them as a powerhouse in college football.
