The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Fest has been officially postponed indefinitely for the year 2020.
Organizers announced that since the COVID-19 pandemic has become increasingly unpredictable, it is in the best interest of festival workers, attendees, and musicians that this event be canceled.
Originally, Jazz Fest had been moved from April of this year to later in the fall. But according to a report from Jazz Fest, the COVID-19 situation may still be questionable in the fall and so for the safety for all involved the difficult decision was decided after careful deliberation. Organizers are hoping the canceling of this huge event will allow the COVID-19 crisis to stabilize.
The New Orleans Jazz Festival is a 50-year tradition and that tradition will continue next year. Officials from Jazz Fest have already begun planning next year’s event. Jazz Fest is set to happen next spring, April 22 – May 2, 2021.
If you purchased a ticket to attend this year, that same ticket will still be valid at next year’s event. Ticketholders will receive information on the refund policy by April 22.
