Former Carencro High and Louisiana Ragin Cajuns star Joe Charles has entered his name into the transfer portal, according to a report on social media.

Louisiana 6’7 Junior Joe Charles Jr plans to enter the transfer portal a source tells @madehoops

Charles spent three years with the Louisiana men’s basketball program, appearing in 94 games while starting 37. In 33 starts for the 2023-2024 season, “Carencro Joe” averaged 11.3 points and 9.6 rebounds per game along with 1.8 steals and 1.1 blocks per game.

The junior ended the season with the third most double-doubles in the Sun Belt Conference with 11 and finished second in rebounds with 302. He was named to the All-Sun Belt Third Team.

Louisiana forward Joe Charles Jr. will submit his paperwork to enter the transfer portal later today, his agent Brian Jungreis of Seros Partners tells @On3sports.

If Charles does choose to leave the Cajuns program, it would be a major blow for a team that expected to return every player from this season’s quarterfinal run.
