Kramer Robertson may be the smallest guy on the LSU baseball team, but don’t let that be what forms your opinion of the young man. He may be small but he has the biggest heart on the team, and possibly in all of NCAA baseball. Robertson has come to the plate with multiple chances to win games for the Tigers and he has, in the words of Bon Jovi, rocked them all! Robertson has 2 Walk Off hits and 1 game winning hit for LSU, all since May 7th. Kramer put the ball in play that forced the error at the end of the #RallyPossum game, which would allow the Tigers to win. He also knocked a game winning single in the bottom of the 8th against #1 ranked Florida, which was a big late season win for the Tigers. The latest sighting of who is know being dubbed ‘Mr. Clutch’ or my favorite ‘The Possum Prince’ came last night in the bottom of the 9th with LSU and Tennessee tied up at 4 runs a piece. Right on cue ‘The Possum Prince’ laced a hard shot down the 3rd base line to clinch victory for the Tigers. I don’t know if a person can ever get use to being mauled by his teammates in the outfield; but if someone can Kramer Robertson has had a lot of practice running for his life from a group of insanely hyped Tigers.
A lot of the recent good fortune for the Tigers has been attributed to that ‘cute’ little possum that ran on the field that fateful night of May 7th, but don’t forget about the guys with the gloves and bats in their hands getting it done on the field. Undoubtedly led buy the scrappy, full of heart and fight, ‘The Possum Prince’ Kramer Robertson. If a baseball to the face can’t slow him down, I feel bad for the rest of the teams that have to face the Kramer Robertson led Tigers.
