Alex Lange was on fire Friday night as the LSU Tigers (5-1) took the first game of the weekend series against Maryland (1-3) by the score of 6-1.
Antoine Duplantis got the Tigers on the board first with an RBI triple to center field. Later in the inning, Kramer Robertson made it 2-0 with an RBI single right up the middle. Slaughter made it 3-0 after three complete after a sac fly sent Robertson home.
The Terrapins would respond quickly in the fourth inning with an RBI double to left field. However that was all they were able to muster up and Michael Papierski would put the game out of reach with a three run blast to left field.
Lange improved to 2-0 on the season with six innings allowed one run off six hits, walked two, and struck out twelve batters on the evening.
LSU will try to clinch the weekend series on Saturday with first pitch set for 2 pm.
