Leger and the Long Ball Lead Cajuns to 3-0 Win over App St.

Posted by davidschultz on March 18, 2017 in Featured, Latest News

One week after taking a no-hitter into the 9th inning, Cajuns lefty Gunner Leger threw seven shutout innings, matching a career high with 10 strikeouts leading the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns to a 3-0 win over Appalachian State in the Sun Belt Conference opener.

Offensively all three Cajuns runs came from the long ball.  Izzy Edwards led of the bottom of the first with his first home run of the season, putting Louisiana on top 1-0.  Steven Sensley’s second home run of the year provided the insurance the Cajuns were looking for with a monstrous 2-run shot off the top of the trees in the right.

Cajuns try to take the series with Nick on mound 2p Saturday afternoon.
