It looks like Gunner Leger’s injury last weekend was nothing to worry about.
The junior pitcher returned to form on Friday night to help the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (28-17-1, 14-7-1 Sun Belt) shut out Georgia Southern (30-16, 13-9 Sun Belt) by the score of 3-0.
Kennon Fontenot got the Cajuns on the board with a two-run shot to right field in the bottom of the fourth.
Conrad gave them a little more cushion in the fifth with an RBI double to right center field that scored Brad Antchak.
Leger improved to 9-2 on the year allowing only two hits and striking out six in seven innings of work. Wyatt Marks got his sixth save of the season with two shutout innings, striking out three of the six batters he’s faced.
The Cajuns will look to clinch the series on Saturday with first pitch set for 6 pm.
