It was a dominant showing on Wednesday night, especially on the boards with 43 for the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (7-2) to the Loyola-New Orleans Wolfpack’s (5-4) 24. That alone led to a 98-56 home victory for the Cajuns.
The Cajuns came out of the gates fast with a 10-2 run early on and kept pushing the pace thanks to some solid shooting from beyond the arc from Malik Marquetti. The Cajuns got out to as much as a 27-point lead with 3:13 left in the first half and ended up with a 44-19 lead at the break.
It continued to be all Cajuns in the second half, making it a 30-point lead with 15:26 left in regulation. JaKeenan Gant officially put the game out of reach with 15 of his 23 points coming in the second half.
The Cajuns will return to the hardwood next Tuesday when they travel to Ruston to take on Louisiana Tech (6-2) with tipoff set for 6 pm.
