The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (7-3) just keep on rolling and their 122-90 victory over Prairie View A&M (1-9) was a prime example of that thanks to a pair of big performances from JaKeenan Gant and Jerekius Davis.
How It Happened:
The Ragin Cajuns started off with a blistering pace, getting out to a 15 point lead before the second media timeout. From that point on it was all Cajuns thanks in large part to Jerekius Davis getting hot from beyond the arc, going five-for-five in the first half. The Cajuns coasted to a 25-point lead as both teams headed into the locker room at halftime.
The second half started out just as strong as the first for Louisiana, getting out to a 35-point lead with 15:14 left in the ballgame. JaKeenan Gant helped the Cajuns in the second half with 10 points in the second half to give him a career-high 27 points on the evening and that was pretty much it for the Cajuns on Tuesday night as they cruised to a 32-point win over the Panthers.
Big Number: 27
Both Gant and Davis had career nights with both putting up 27 points, going 19-of-33 from the field. It was a great performance all around for this team, but it wouldn’t have been nearly as much of a blowout without the efficiency that they had on Tuesday.
Player of the Game: Jerekius Davis
It’s pretty easy to go with a player that only missed one shot, had a career night, and only played 19 minutes. That’s pretty efficient for a team that has looked for that in the last few ballgames.
