The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns women’s basketball team had a strong start and never relented the lead on Saturday afternoon as they were able to handily defeat Southern University of New Orleans 87-57.
It didn’t start off good for the Cajuns as the Lady Knights would take an early lead, but it wouldn’t last long as they would bounce back late in the first quarter to get their lead to double digits thanks to some timely threes at the end of the first quarter.
The dominance would continue as they would get the lead up to 20 points early on in the second quarter until the Lady Knights fought back at the end of the half with a 8-2 run to make it 49-34 as they headed into the locker room.
The Cajuns would come out to start the second half like a ball of fire with a third quarter with some dominance in the paint to get the lead up to 30 points and it would be all Cajuns the rest of the way.
The Cajuns (4-2) will stay in the friendly confines of the Cajundome on December 14th to take on Houston with an early tip off schedule for 11 am.
