According to a police report,senior tight end Alex Allen was involved in an altercation with a 24-year-old male at the corner of S. Buchanan and Congress Street the night of December 21st.
The 24-year-old was transported to a local hospital to deal with the injuries he suffered. The extent of the injuries have not been mentioned at this time.
Allen, who recently graduated from the university, was booked on 2nd degree battery charges.
University officials released a statement regarding Allen’s arrest
“Out of respect for the legal process, the University will not comment circumstances that led to the student-athlete’s suspension. The thoughts of the University community are with the injured student and his family.”
Allen will not participate in the Cajuns game against Miami of Ohio on January 6th, 2020 in the Lending Tree Bowl in Mobile, Alabama.
