After a rash of transfers, Louisiana Men’s Basketball got some good news on Friday.
Forward Hosana Kitenge, an all-conference performer for Bob Marlin, will be returning to the program for his senior season, he announced via his social media.
Kitenge averaged 11.9 points and 6.5 rebounds per game during his first season with the Cajuns, finishing second on the team in double-doubles with five.
The news comes after all-conference players Joe Charles and Kobe Julien both transferred from the program as Charles committed to McNeese and Julien stayed in the Sun Belt and will play at Arkansas State.
Kitenge transferred to the Cajuns after playing at Three Rivers Community College for a season. Prior to that, the Englishmen were in the Sun Belt with Coastal Carolina.
Kitenge exploded later in the season, scoring double figures in 20 of the final 23 games for Louisiana, including a career-high 25 on the road against Arkansas State on January 13.
Kitenge will lead the Cajuns along with Kentrell Garnett as the only returning starters from a season ago while Brandon Hardy, Chancellor White, and others will also contribute in big ways for the 2024-2025 season.
