After a magnificent showing against Marshall, Louisiana Ragin Cajuns freshman pitcher Chase Morgan has been named the Pitcher of the Week for the Sun Belt Conference.
Morgan is the second Cajuns player to earn the honor in as many weeks, pitched 8 innings against the Herd, allowing just one hit and striking out a career-high 11 on the afternoon. He is now 4-1 on the season and carries a 1.90 ERA, which leads all freshmen in the country and is 15th overall.
Louisiana plays a back-to-back with Southeastern Louisiana beginning in Hammond on Tuesday before playing at Russo Park on Wednesday.
