The recruiting efforts for Will Wade have been outstanding since he arrived in Baton Rouge and Monday saw another great acquisition in five-star guard Cameron Thomas.
The 6-4 guard plays for Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia.
So far in the 2019-20 season, he is averaging 32.5 points a game shooting 57.1 percent from the floor and 44.2 percent from the arc with a high of 45 points against Bristol Prep of Tennessee. Thomas is averaging 3.7 assists and 3.6 steals per game this season.
“Cameron Thomas is the best scorer in the country and also has a great ability to make plays for others on the court,” head coach Will Wade said in a statement released by LSU. “We are extremely happy to welcome Cam and his mother, Leslie, to the LSU basketball family.”
This is the fourth five-star prospect to sign with LSU under Coach Wade joining present freshman Trendon Watford and present sophomore Emmitt Williams. The third was forward Naz Reid, who is currently in the G-League affiliate for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Cameron is the third signee in the early signing period, joining teammate forward Bradley Ezewiro and Walker High product Jalen Cook.
