It was a rough one on Friday night for the LSU Tigers (20-12, 6-5 SEC) with Texas A&M (22-9, 4-7 SEC) scoring early and often en route to a 9-2 win.
How It Happened
The Aggies wasted very little time getting out to a big lead, scoring five runs in the bottom of the first, highlighted by an RBI double by Zach DeLoach.
LSU got all of its runs in the fourth off of the bat of Daniel Cabrera with a monster shot out to right field. It seemed like things were starting to go their way, but things went from bad to worse when the Aggies put up three more runs in the fifth, capped off by an RBI single from Cole Bedford.
DeLoach put the finishing touches on the ballgame with an RBI single in the seventh to make it 9-2.
Big Number: 12
The Aggies were taking care of business at the plate, getting 11 hits across and it wasn’t all extra base hits with only two of them being doubles. They were finding the gaps all night long and that helped them get a big win.
Player of the Game: Zach DeLoach
The Aggies centerfielder showed up in a big way on Friday night, going two-of-four with both getting runs across. That alone is deserving of player of the game honors.
