LSU Cruises to 11-2 Win Over Mississippi State

Posted by clintdomingue on March 30, 2019 in Blogs, Latest News

LSU’s offense kept the momentum going on Saturday afternoon with another dominant performance on the way to an 11-2 win over Mississippi State to take the road series.

How It Happened:

Antoine Duplantis wasted little time getting the Tigers on the board with a leadoff home run out to right field. Giovanni DiGiacomo got things going once again in the fourth with an RBI double out to left center and made it 3-0 later in the inning when he scored off of a wild pitch.

After Chris Reid made it 4-0 in the fifth with a sac fly out to center field, the Tigers offense really piled it on in the seventh inning with a four-run inning highlighted by an RBI single from CJ Willis.

Duplantis slammed the door shut in the eighth inning with another solo shot to give them a 9-0 lead.

Big Number: 12

While the score shows that it was a dominant performance, you dive a little further into the stats, you see it was very much feast or famine with 12 Tigers striking out on the afternoon.

Player of the Game: Antoine Duplantis

Duplantis continues to put it together and two home runs in the rubber game was a big reason for LSU to win the series.

Next Up: Tuesday vs Grambling; First Pitch at 6:30 pm
