LSU (9-5, 1-2 SEC) just could not buy a bucket on Saturday afternoon in a 95-78 loss to Mississippi State (10-4, 1-1 SEC).
After both teams exchanged the lead in the opening minutes, the Bulldogs jumped out to a small 19-15 lead with 10:45 remaining in the first half. It was after LSU would take a small one-point lead, but that was all they could muster as the Bulldogs would go on a 15-2 run over the course of four minutes to increase the lead to double digits. They would eventually head into the locker room at halftime with a 52-33 lead.
The shooting woes for the Tigers would continue and Mississippi State would continue to increase their lead, going up by as much as 25 points early on in the second half. LSU would finally begin to find the bottom of the bucket, but the lead that the Bulldogs had built was far too much as they would lose by 17.
LSU will stay at the PMAC on Wednesday when they host the Texas A&M Aggies (8-6, 0-3 SEC) with tipoff set for 7:30 pm.
