LSU Dominated on the Road by Georgia

Posted by clintdomingue on February 24, 2018 in Blogs, Latest News

If the LSU Tigers (16-12, 7-9 SEC) wanted to increase their chances of making it to the big dance, then they would need a win on Saturday afternoon over the Georgia Bulldogs (16-12. 7-9 SEC). The final score may not show how one-sided it was, but the Bulldogs proved to be too much with a 93-82 win over the Tigers.

After a quick start for the Tigers, Georgia began to take control getting out to a six point lead with 14:32 left in the first half. LSU tied things up late in the first half, but were unable to overthrow the Bulldogs as they went on a 16-5 run to end the first half up by 11 points.

Georgia started out the second half on a strong note, making their first six shots to get out to a 21-point lead before the first media timeout. LSU tried to fight back in the final minutes, but it was a case of too little, too late with the Bulldogs getting a pair of free throws late to put the ballgame out of reach.

LSU will hit the road on Wednesday when they take on South Carolina (15-14, 6-10 SEC) with tipoff set for 5:30 pm.
