LSU Dominates Florida to Take Series

Posted by clintdomingue on April 20, 2019 in Blogs, Latest News

The LSU Tigers offense continued to get it done on Saturday afternoon, winning the rubber game by scoring 11 runs off of 11 hits against the Florida Gators.

How It Happened:

LSU wasted little time putting Florida behind the eight-ball, scoring three runs in each of the first three innings and that was highlighted by a two-run single by Antoine Duplantis. Florida finally got on the board in the top of the fourth with a two-run shot to right field by Cory Acton.

The Tigers slammed that door shut in the bottom of the fifth with Jsoh Smith hit a solo shot out to right field to give them a 10-2 lead.

Big Number: 11

LSU putting up 11 runs on 11 hits isn’t anything to shake your head at, especially when you look back at what happened on Thursday night when they put up 16 hits and only cashed in five times. Baseball’s an amazing game when you watch it enough.

Player of the Game: Antoine Duplantis

Duplantis looked great over the weekend, going 9-of-16, but he was efficient at the dish in the series finale with four RBIs off of three hits.

Next Up: Tuesday vs Lamar; First Pitch at 6:30 pm
