The LSU Tigers softball team will play at home inside Tiger Park in an NCAA Regional next weekend as the #10 overall seed.
LSU (41-14) will welcome Southeastern Louisiana, UCONN, and Nebraska to Baton Rouge for the weekend in a double elimination tournament.
Southeastern (48-14) enters the tournament having won the Southland Conference Tournament, defeating McNeese in the best-of-three finals.
UCONN (35-17) enters play as champions of the Big East. They won the conference tournament to secure their spot, and they will face Nebraska in the first round.
Nebraska (39-13) is an at-large team from the Big Ten Conference. They feature Jordy Bahl, one of the best players in the country and a two-way star.
The Tigers used an impressive 30-4 record at home this season and will look to have that on display during the regional. They are led by Tori Edwards at the plate, who enters postseason play with a .403 average with 18 HRs and 71 RBIs. All three of those numbers lead the team. In the circle, it’s been a duo of Sydney Berzon and Jayden Heavener. Those two have combined for 30 wins and nearly 250 strikeouts.
LSU opens play against Southeastern in the first round of the Regional on Friday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 PM.
