The LSU men’s basketball team will take on Florida State in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
The Tigers and Seminoles will meet on the hardwood on Tuesday, December 3rd as part of the SEC/ACC Challenge. The ESPN family of networks announced the matchup between the two schools on Wednesday afternoon.
In 2023, the LSU Tigers faced the Syracuse Orange in the inaugural matchup between the leagues. The series for the men and women tied last year at seven a piece as LSU lost 80-57 in their game.
There will be 16 matchups this upcoming season after Oklahoma and Texas were added to the SEC. The ACC includes 18 teams, two of which will not participate.
Matt McMahon will head into his third year as head coach for the Tigers basketball program while Leonard Hamilton has been with the Seminoles since 2002 and led them to a 17-16 record, good for eighth in the ACC standings. McMahon’s group also went 17-16 in 2023 but finished seventh in the conference.
LSU lost key contributors from last year’s team but grabbed a couple of guys out of the transfer portal such as former Richmond Spider guard Dji Bailey.
