After an offseason full of turnover on the LSU Football coaching staff, Brian Kelly has named his next offensive coordinator.
According to multiple reports, LSU is expected to promote QB coach Joe Sloan to offensive coordinator and primary play-caller. The team is also expected to promote wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator Cortez Hankton to co-offensive coordinator.
Sloan came to Baton Rouge in 2022 shortly after Brian Kelly was named head coach. Before joining the Tigers, Sloan spent nine seasons in Ruston at Louisiana Tech. He is credited at LSU with helping the development of Jayden Daniels into a Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback and a potential Top 5 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Hankton joined the Tigers in 2022 after spending the previous three seasons under Kirby Smart at Georgia. While at LSU, Hankton developed Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr into top receivers in college football and helped lead the best offense in college football this past season.
Once these moves are officially announced by LSU, the staff for the 2024 season will be officially filled.
