The LSU Tigers (7-3) needed a big boost on Tuesday night after a tough last-second loss against Stephen F. Austin. The way the game started on Tuesday wasn’t the way the Tigers were going to get things done against a team like Sam Houston State (6-6).
After LSU got out to a 7-2 lead early, the Bearkats got out in front thanks to an 11-0 run and held a 17-9 lead with 14:12 left in the first half. The Tigers were able to fight back though, getting out in front once again thanks to a big three-pointer with 5:29 left. LSU’s offense woke up after that play and managed to make it 38-29 at the break.
The Tigers established dominance early on in the second half, going on an 11-0 run early to take a 20-point lead with 16:38 left in regulation. It was all LSU the rest of the way as they came away with an 80-58 victory over the Bearkats of Sam Houston State.
The Tigers will return to action on Friday when they host the North Florida Ospreys (5-9) with tipoff set for 7 pm.
