The LSU Tigers (20-10) needed to get a win after a tough loss on Saturday against Texas A&M. They got it done in a big way on Tuesday night when they took down Grambling (9-18) in decisive fashion by the score of 13-2.
Grambling got on the board early thanks to a throwing error in the first followed up by an RBI single from Johan Mojica. LSU responded in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI single from Kramer Robertson to cut the lead in half.
LSU got in control in the bottom of the third with a pair of runs thanks to Jake Slaughter and Chris Reid.
LSU put the final nail in the coffin with a pair of home runs in the sixth from Zach Watson and Robertson. The also had a two-run double from Rankin Woley to make it 10-2.
Russell Reynolds was one of 10 pitchers used in the victory and was credited with the win, improving to 1-1. In his one inning of work he only faced three batters.
The LSU Tigers will return to SEC action on Friday when they take on Arkansas (22-6) with first pitch set for 6:30 pm.
