Things couldn’t have gone any better for LSU on Thursday night with a dominant 7-1 win over Auburn to push them into 5th place in the SEC with two games left in the regular season.
How It Happened:
Auburn got on the board in the top of the second when Edouard Julien hit a sac fly out to right field, scoring Steven Williams. LSU responded in a big way in the bottom of the third with a four-run inning that was highlighted by an RBI single up the middle from Daniel Cabrera.
Cade Beloso then led off the 4th inning with a solo shot to right field, to extend their lead.
Saul Garza was the next player to push one out of the park in the sixth and Antoine Duplantis put the exclamation point on the victory with a solo shot out to right field.
Big Number: 2
Two hits for Auburn was all that they could do on Thursday night and considering how up-and-down the pitching staff has been, this is a huge step in the right direction.
Player of the Game: Antoine Duplantis
Duplantis continues his hot streak with a pair of RBIs, including a monster home-run in the seventh to cap off the win.
